When an explosive device needs to be handled or transported, protecting personnel and the surrounding area is the first priority. Mistral Total Containment Vessels provide a controlled environment for dealing with explosive devices, suspicious packages and other high risk materials.
The vessels are designed to contain blast pressure and fragmentation, reducing the potential impact of an explosion outside the vessel. Different models and configurations are available for a range of operational requirements, including solutions that can be used together with robotic EOD systems.

PGS-32 (Publicatiereeks Gevaarlijke Stoffen 32)
PGS-32 is a Dutch guideline that governs the safe storage and handling of explosive substances and articles. It sets requirements for containment, blast mitigation, and safety distances in both civilian and military contexts. Mistral’s blast containment units are engineered to meet or exceed PGS-32 recommendations, supporting safe deployment across Dutch and European critical infrastructure.
DDESB (Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board)
The DDESB provides safety standards for the U.S. Department of Defense concerning the siting, handling, storage, and transport of explosives. Mistral’s products are designed and tested to align with DDESB Technical Papers and guidelines, ensuring they meet stringent military safety criteria for blast resistance, fragment containment, and hazard zoning.
